HM’s visit to Bahrain confirms authenticity of historical relations: Information Minister

Muscat: “The visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the Kingdom of Bahrain reflects the veracity of the historic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as the strong ties of brotherhood between the peoples of the two countries in all fields. . and at different levels, including the political, economic and cultural spheres,” Dr Abdullah bin Nassir Al Harrasi, Minister of Information, said here today.

In a statement to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Dr Abdullah said what sets the bilateral relationship apart is the fact that they date back to the historical eras of Majan and Dilmun.

He added that “the early building blocks for the creation of the GCC stemmed from shared visions.

Dr Abdullah stressed that the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain have played a key role in shaping the visions, the minister said, adding that the relationship between the two countries has steadily grown for more than a decade. ‘a half-century. These relationships are based on honest and solid principles in dealing with various issues and events.

He explained that the presence of a joint Omani-Bahraini committee has been a great incentive to coordinate action towards the expansion of various aspects of cooperation between the two countries.

The panel aspires to develop a concept of comprehensiveness serving the interests of the peoples of both countries, including through the implementation of the visions of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa of Bahrain.

The Minister said that the low-key media policy adopted by the Sultanate of Oman has greatly contributed to navigating a moderate path that has spared it the pitfalls of generating unsatisfactory results.

“The Sultanate of Oman speaks to the world, and its Arab brothers in particular, in a way that shows respect and appreciation for all,” Dr Abdullah said.

He pointed out that at the start of the modern Omani renaissance in the 70s of the last century, it based its media message on Oman remaining a friend to all. This approach, he added, is confirmed by the Renewed Renaissance, the hallmark of the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
