Prime Minister visits Uzbekistan to attend SCO-CHS meeting

SAMARKAND (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting on Thursday and discussed issues of mutual concern.
The meeting focused on strengthening Pak-Uzbek ties in various fields for the benefit of the two sister nations.
It should be mentioned that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is visiting Samarkand, Uzbekistan to attend the annual meeting of the Council of Heads of State (CHS) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
After his arrival, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the ancient Khizar Mosque in Uzbekistan’s historic city of Samarkand.
The Prime Minister appreciated the architectural masterpiece of the mosque built in the 8th century. Federal Ministers Khawaja Asif and Miftah Ismail accompanied the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Sharif also paid homage to the mausoleum of Uzbekistan’s first president, Islam Karimov.

The meeting focused on ways and means to enhance relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan in various fields including trade, economy, energy and people-to-people contacts.
