Doha: The State of Qatar and the Federative Republic of Brazil affirmed their concern to strengthen and develop bilateral relations in various fields and to work for the development of the economic partnership to raise it to a level worthy of prosperity for the economies from both countries.

The statement said that His Highness the Amir and His Excellency the Brazilian President stressed the importance of bilateral political dialogue and agreed to continue strengthening relations through high-level visits and diplomatic dialogue mechanisms. The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest, including the political and economic situation in Latin America and the Middle East.

Recognizing the importance of the transport and procurement sector for the global supply chains and economic development of the two countries, they also agreed to explore possibilities for bilateral cooperation in this area, including negotiations on the conclusion of a maritime transport agreement.
They reiterated, according to the press release, the importance of the field of defense for bilateral relations, and announced their willingness to consider joint initiatives in this field on the basis of the memorandum of understanding signed between the ministries of defense. of the two countries in October. 2019.

The statement added that Brazil congratulated the State of Qatar for its preparations to host the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup at the end of November and the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar and offered to share the accumulated Brazilian experience. in the field of the organization of major sporting events. the previous years.
