Sheikh Mohamed and Luis Lacalle Pou hold talks at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi on Sunday
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, received on Sunday at Al Shati Palace the President of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle Pou, visiting the Emirates United Arabs to attend his country’s national ceremony. Monday day celebrations at Expo 2020 Dubai.
After receiving the President of Uruguay, Sheikh Mohamed discussed with him the bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and Uruguay and the improvement and expansion of their horizons in various fields for the benefit of both friendly countries.
They also addressed several regional and global issues of common interest.
The meeting also discussed the importance of Expo 2020 Dubai and its success over the past few months in fostering global dialogue on creating a better future for humanity.
In this regard, they also referred to the participation and importance of Uruguay in introducing its vision of culture and development.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed underscored the UAE’s desire to develop its economic, trade and development ties with Latin American countries, especially Uruguay.
Pou thanked Sheikh Mohamed for the warm welcome and stressed his country’s desire to strengthen its economic and investment relations with the United Arab Emirates, particularly in food security and cooperation in research, development and l innovation in various sectors for the benefit of both countries and their friendly peoples.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Hamdan Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Special Affairs Advisor at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs; Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State; Saeed Abdullah Al Qamzi, non-resident ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Uruguay, and several officials.
