CAIRO – Jan 26, 2022: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi pays a visit to the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday morning, where he is due to meet Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Mohamed bin Zayed.
In a statement, Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said the visit comes within the framework of special Egyptian-Emirati relations and historical brotherly ties and cooperative relations between the two countries.
Sisi is expected to discuss with Mohamed bin Zayed aspects of the strong and extensive bilateral relations between the two countries, Radi said.
Sisi and Mohamed bin Zayed will also coordinate and consult on the latest developments related to regional issues in light of the requirements of the current phase regarding the consolidation of efforts to protect Arab national security against destabilization attempts, Radi said.
In early January, Sisi and Mohamed bin Zayed discussed ways to further strengthen relations and cooperation between the two nations, according to a statement from the UAE Crown Prince’s official website.
“During a phone call, the two sides exchanged congratulations on the Gregorian New Year, praying to Almighty Allah for further progress, stability and security for the two countries and their peoples,” the statement said.
“The two leaders also reviewed a number of regional and international issues, stressing the importance of maintaining coherent and integrated positions that consolidate Arab and regional security and ensure sustainable development in the countries of the region,” added the press release.
On November 26, 2021, President Sisi received a phone call from Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. They discussed a number of issues relating to bilateral cooperation and relations between the two countries, Egyptian President’s spokesman Bassam Radi said in a statement.
The two leaders exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
